Every dog has its day. Google like any other brand will wake up one day and find it is not flavour of the month. This is obviously going to be accelerated if it doesn't behave in a fair and honest manner to its users.

The problem it has is a complex one. With such a diverse customer base, how do they keep everyone happy? Do they even care?

Well they used to, but most businesses at some time or other, fall into the trap of believing their own hype.

Very few businesses reinvent themselves successfully each generation. It is going to be interesting to see if such a new brand that has appeared from nowhere manages the kids coming through.

Google was born out of a grage and it was "cool" to support them. Will the next generation be as sympathetic?

Interesting but disturbing stuff. Could this be the first signs of their bowing to pressure laid against them by political lobbyists against Net-neutrality?
