Web PI 2.0
7 Oct 2009 by Micro-Clouseau
This week, Microsoft launched their Web Platform Installer 2.0 tool.
This simple to use, extremely lightweight piece of software allows end users to quickly and easily install a plethora of free Web Platform software.
See here for information and download: http://www.iis.net/webpi
What’s great about this is that it really does make it a lot easier for administrators to get a server up and running, ready to host websites and the like. Just a few clicks (and a meagre 74kb download!) and you’re installing IIS7.5, MS SQL 2008 Express and many other non-MS software products – and, prior to installing, it auto downloads whatever you select from the Windows Web Application Gallery 2.0.
Happy Platform Installing!
